Regular communication meetings with the client enabled careful programming of the timing of work and deliveries. Sustainable design was a key aspect of the campus redevelopment from the outset. To ensure that the project minimised its impact on the community and the environment, we sourced 90% of materials from local suppliers within a 30-mile radius of Leeds. Another key goal of the campus design was to reduce landfill as far as possible by introducing dry mix recycling in all areas to reduce waste. The Project attained BREEAM Excellent certification and in June 2015, DePuy Synthes celebrated the grand opening of the new campus, which now brings together many of the company’s local, regional and global business operations and support functions. Following the successful delivery of this project, Marshall Errock Construction Ltd were again engaged to deliver an Aldi in Preston for Robertson’s, and the partnership continued in Aberdeen, before again being appointed as the preferred specialists Masonry Brick and Blockwork Contractor for Robertson’s multi-phase £23.9M development; The project featured as a “game-changer” in it’s unique approach, Through creating a development with 700 homes, 350 of which are affordable housing, they are focused on the existing community as well as attracting new people to the area in what is seen to be sustainable regeneration of the area. They say that by building high quality homes designed to be environmentally, economically and socially sustainable, they can deliver what people are increasingly looking for in a home. All of our developments are embedded in existing communities and if you are investing and building in an area over multiple phases and many years, a healthy, working relationship with local stakeholders is vital.
