Robertson Group demand the highest standards!
Marshall Errock Construction Ltd, Masonry Brick and Blockwork Specialists and Robertson’s Group.
Our partnership with Robertson’s continues to grow from strength to strength, built on teamwork and working together with a mutual ambition;
Satisfied customers, with high quality projects, on time, on cost, and delivered safely.
Robertson Group demand the highest standards, and are one of the Construction Industries Major Successes;
Marshall Errock Construction Ltd collaboration with Robertson began quite a few years ago at THE DePuy Synthes Project in Leeds, a multi-phase development;
Sustainable design at the centre
he project involved strict noise and operational restrictions due to the tight nature of the site which remained fully operational throughout.
Regular communication meetings with the client enabled careful programming of the timing of work and deliveries.
Sustainable design was a key aspect of the campus redevelopment from the outset.
To ensure that the project minimised its impact on the community and the environment, we sourced 90% of materials from local suppliers within a 30-mile radius of Leeds.
Another key goal of the campus design was to reduce landfill as far as possible by introducing dry mix recycling in all areas to reduce waste.
The Project attained BREEAM Excellent certification and in June 2015, DePuy Synthes celebrated the grand opening of the new campus, which now brings together many of the company’s local, regional and global business operations and support functions.
Following the successful delivery of this project, Marshall Errock Construction Ltd were again engaged to deliver an Aldi in Preston for Robertson’s, and the partnership continued in Aberdeen, before again being appointed as the preferred specialists Masonry Brick and Blockwork Contractor for Robertson’s multi-phase £23.9M development;
The project featured as a “game-changer” in it’s unique approach,
Through creating a development with 700 homes, 350 of which are affordable housing, they are focused on the existing community as well as attracting new people to the area in what is seen to be sustainable regeneration of the area.
They say that by building high quality homes designed to be environmentally, economically and socially sustainable, they can deliver what people are increasingly looking for in a home.
All of our developments are embedded in existing communities and if you are investing and building in an area over multiple phases and many years, a healthy, working relationship with local stakeholders is vital.
A local resident said: “They are bringing back to life a community that was once thriving before the shops were knocked down at Pennywell.
But with the regeneration work it feels like it is all coming back.
Hopefully we will see the return of proper community shops.
Folk that I speak to think it is great development and just what this community needed.
Kate Wimpress, director at NE Arts, has said that the partnership has allowed community actors to control their own destiny.
The council has worked in partnership with the developers to meet community needs. Councillor Kate Campbell, Housing, Homelessness and Fair Work Convener, said: “Pennywell is one of Scotland’s largest housing-led regeneration projects – delivering much needed affordable homes alongside investment in the wider community. A blueprint for our approach to council housebuilding across the city.

MEC Major Developments In Aberdeen
Marshall Errock Construction Ltd, Masonry Brick and Blockwork Specialists have a long history of carrying out major developments in the beautiful City of Aberdeen.
We were chosen to deliver a state-of-the-art academy in Aberdeen the £47M South of the City School in Aberdeen, by the UK’s largest construction Group Balfour Beatty;
This for 1,350 pupils, alongside learning provision, dance studio, fitness suite, games hall, six lane swimming pool, an adjacent garden and 3G pitch.
It truly is a fantastic new educational facility.
An excellent academy which provides a strong focal point for the local community, in an exciting modern environment within which students can thrive.”
We were delighted therefore, on completion of Lochside Academy to be awarded from another major project from one of the UK’s top 3 Main Contractors, Kier.
This to deliver;
POWIS PLACE STUDENT ACCOMODATION.
This is a six-storey building which accommodates nearly 200 students in a mixture of en-suite rooms in shared apartments and a selection of single studios.
The sculptural massing of the design features a sheltered forecourt addressed by glazed common room and reception areas.
Beneath the internal courtyard garden parking spaces for 70 bicycles and 20 cars are provided.
This went onto to win National acclaim at the London Brickwork Awards, of which Marshall Errock Construction Ltd “cemented” its reputation as one of Aberdeen’s finest Masonry Brick and Blockwork contractors on the City’s largest schemes.
In 2020, Marshall Errock Constructions Ltd (MEC), were appointed by CHAP’s to deliver a vast Multi-Stage Development at Summerhill, with a 3-year program delivery period.
CHAPS are widely known In the North of Scotland as a brand that stands for excellence in the construction industry.
As a result of working together with a marvellous and talented team at CHAP and MEC, the next phase has been brokered and commenced on a former academy site, which makes it a brownfield development fully appreciative of surrounding countryside and wildlife habitat.
All credit to Aberdeen Council who have taken extra-ordinary steps to maintain a healthy environmental policy, whilst delivering quality homes.
We are thrilled to progressing yet another phase of the housing project through partnership working.
At Summerhill we want to get the very best outcomes for new residents and the wider area.
The construction contract has a comprehensive programme of Community Benefits, including apprenticeships and early learning activities.
The Council’s Combined Heat and Power Scheme – which uses waste heat from electricity generation – will help keep fuel bills down as well as promoting sustainable living.
All properties will be fitted with “Full Fibre To The Premises” optical cables and a separate duct to increase digital connectivity options.

Again, all at Marshall Errock Construction Ltd extend our thanks to CHAP’s and Aberdeen City Council for affording MEC the opportunity to be involved on such a prestigious project, and of course to all tiers of our workforce and management, who have proved time and time again capable of delivering the many challenges that are associated with projects of the size and magnitude of;
THE LOCHSIDE ACADEMY
POWIS PLACE STUDENT ACCOMDATION
We come into the new year giving thanks to Mr Jeff Johnson whom has worked for over 25 years for Marshall Errock Construction Ltd.
Since inception in 1983, we have maintained a philosophy of recognising ability, loyalty, hard work and skills.
We’ve been fortunate as a company along the way to develop many long-lasting relationships with clients and our workforce, and sought to recognise and show appreciation for efforts of all tiers of staff.
Prior to Covid Marshall Errock Construction Ltd would often take our Site Teams out, The Stone Masons, Bricklayers, Apprentices, Forklift Truck Drivers, The Labourers, The Hod Carriers, Pan Man and all associated staff.
This to develop camaraderie and as a gesture of appreciation for the efforts of all.
Jeff Johnson retired from Marshall Errock Construction Ltd in 2021, and his “tongue in cheek” request for a ROLEX WATCH was granted… and was well deserved.
The Swan Song project which was the last that Jeff delivered to completion was the mixed-use development – Kings Stables Road in Edinburgh.
With a sense of great pride to all the efforts of everyone involved at Marshall Errock Construction Ltd, it has been recognised as one of the finest examples of its type, for stonework, brickwork, design and workmanship by perhaps the highest standards attainable;

THE ROYAL INCORPORATION OF ARCHITECTS*
*RIAS Scottish Award winner 2021
A true mix of uses is integrated into a historic city centre. A once undesirable street is activated by a seven-storey apartment block, student housing, a four-star apart-hotel of studios, garden flats and town houses and four commercial units.
Set around public and semi-private courtyards, the development reconnects Grassmarket with the city’s West End.
The architectural language, scale and muted palette blends into the Old Town’s fabric: sandstone, grey cladding and render; pitched slate roofs and dormers. The stepped facade bridges the gap between street scale and a large adjacent office building.
To all at Marshall Errock Construction Ltd we wish our workforce, clients and all our staff a Happy, Peaceful, Safe, Joyous and Prosperous New Year for 2022, and to our Clients both old and new, thank you for the opportunities that you have given us over the years, and may this continue for many many years to come….
And to Mr Jeff Johnson (Forklift Truck Driver extraordinaire), many thanks from all of us at MEC, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement…. And of course, your ROLEX!
In 1995, Marshall Errock Construction Ltd were invited by Taylor Woodrow Construction Ltd (now Vinci), to build the Tesco Superstore Development on Grangemouth Road in Falkirk. Building Schools, hospitals, Retail Parks, Prison’s, Medical Centres, and working for the elite of the industry we are proud to be part of.
Marshall Errock Construction Ltd work nationally, since inception in 1983, but our introduction into Scotland changed the dynamics of our company - for the better!
We have been the recipients of many awards over the years, recognised at The London Brick Awards as first in category. It was with a sense of pride that in 2018, PLACES FOR PEOPLE (who have in DECEMBER 2021 scooped the NATIONAL HOUSEBUILDER award for best design, too much fanfare in the national press);
Chosen from many of the industries specialist Masonry Brick and Blockwork Contractors - Marshall Errock Construction Ltd to “partner” for one of Edinburgh’s largest developments ever of its type.
Places for People having won the major accolade at the prestigious Housebuilder Awards, which celebrates the very best in UK housebuilding; has been recognised for its excellence in all aspects of the sector, including customer satisfaction, design, regeneration and sustainability.
Marshall Errock Construction Ltd have since worked alongside Places for People since 2018, delivering multiple phases of THE ENGINE YARD development, and we were therefore absolutely delighted when they appointed us – in DECEMBER 2021, to carry out the next phase of this extraordinary development;
It is fabulous news to continue working, and be chosen by a company who are described as the “Industry best” What an accolade!
Whilst the pictures that accompany this post are of the “existing façade” of The Engine Yard, what makes this project exciting is Places for People’s design team’s intention to incorporate this magnificent piece of history and architectural brickwork master-class within the structure of the new phase of apartments.
This is going to make them very unique indeed, and in doing so Places for People, together with Marshall Errock Construction Ltd, will be pushing hard to be recipients of the award of BEST IN CLASS FOR DECEMBER 2022.
A very happy new year to all involved at our company, and a big thanks to a great client.
A wonderful team to be part of.
Looking forward to the challenges of 2022.

The Canonmills Development
Nestled within Edinburgh’s lively Canonmills area, and just a short distance from Stockbridge, Broughton and the Royal Botanic Gardens – Canonmills Garden is perfectly placed to cultivate a new way of living.
A contemporary yet charming location comprising of 135 one, two, three and four-bedroom homes.

The site presented many challenges throughout its course but due to the high standards of quality management and the site team’s efforts, we’re proud to have delivered the project with zero HSE reportable incidents.
On a construction site of this magnitude, and complexities of working in restricted areas and access, safety, delivery, program and costs, all remained paramount from start to completion.
The development itself is a pioneering scheme of Artisan Property Developer Hopefield Partnerships who appointed Hart Builders (since re-branded Cruden’s), to deliver a multi-million-pound new housing development at a former primary school in Edinburgh, of low carbon city living.
This whilst meeting the changing requirements of people and communities in a post-COVID world. And the developer has now promised its game-changing blueprint could have significant environmental and investment benefits for Scotland’s cities as it progresses with new home projects planned for more brownfield sites.
