November 2011 - MEC apprentice bricklayer Mr Ross Wilson is awarded with a certificate of recognition along with vouchers for demonstrating a proactive attitude and a recognisable contribution in promoting and maintaining a 100% safe culture whilst at work. October 2011 - MEC successfully handed over the £2.7M housing scheme for Bramall Construction on time and on cost. The 25 new homes have been long awaited by the local community which replace the 28 flats which once attracted a baron of antisocial behaviour.
MEC are well equipped and are happy to have delivered a project the client and the community will be pleased, proud and happy with. We look forward to our next venture with Bramall Construction in establishing a long and prospering relationship.

H&S – MEC are successfully reaccredited by CHAS with continued improvement across the board in relation to policy, management, surveillance, equipment, COSHH, risk assessments, method statements, training, accidents, and monitoring. An achievement we are extremely proud and happy with.

September 2011 - McAlpine award MEC with the King’s Library project at Edinburgh University. The design and development of the King’s Buildings Library will aim to provide a vocal point for both students and staff in providing the facilities needed to create the scientists and engineers of the future. We are extremely delighted to have secured further work with McAlpines following on from the successful completion of Marie Curie Hospice in 2009.

August 2011 - MEC satisfyingly handed over the £410K masonry package on Markazi Jamia Mosque, one of the most demanding specialist masonry brick and blockwork packages that has emerged throughout the UK this past few years. The Brickwork is of a highly specialised nature incorporating brickwork designs, arches, patterns, and bonds to replicate those performed by craftsman of over 2000 years ago.
The scheme provides a large multi-use community centre with new worship facilities, mortuary facilities, teaching rooms and residential accommodation for the Imam.

July 2011 - Marshall Errock Construction Ltd's 20 years + of continuous trading in the Various Scotland Regions, promoting local employment in all areas, investment in local youth, has culminated in the Masonry Brick and Blockwork award of The £26M student accommodation project by Morgan Sindall. The Edinburgh Campus buildings, which will have 277 bed spaces, will be built on the west side of the University's attractive, landscaped campus as a further expansion of the West Student Village. The buildings are planned as a contemporary re-interpretation of the traditional 'university quad' courtyard plan, surrounding an outdoor 'social space', designed to be used as an extension of the indoor space living space.
It is a terrific development to be involved with, one of the most prestigious awards in Scotland this year.
To work alongside  Morgan Sindall's Perfect Delivery Scheme raises every aspect of the construction process. M.E.C.Ltd are well equipped and look forward to delivering a project the client and the community will be pleased, proud and happy with.


June 2011 - Mr Ellis Hampson following continued sustained personal effort has achieved exemplary awards at this year’s College Awards at Liverpool Community College.  Marshall Errock Construction Ltd’s commitment to youth investment, training, and opportunities continues year on year, with an unsurpassed success rate, which Ellis Hampson demonstrates is time, money and effort well invested. May 2011 - Marshall Errock Construction Ltd having re-built the company since Mr Paul Errock and Mr Nigel Swann re-took the helm in October 2004, have aspired to be associated with the best construction contractors in the UK. To aim high, and raise the bar in our particular field of expertise.

January 2011 - Working together with Bowmer & Kirkland we handed over our 8th Sainsbury’s ahead of schedule and on cost. The store at Bishop Auckland was our 2nd in a year in addition to the Carbon Negative Store Extension at Pity Me which was saw fit to be included on their website.

December 2010 -
Morgan Sindall Group rewarded Marshall Errock Construction Ltd with the follow on project to carry out the masonry works on a full supply and fix basis at their Aggreko Site in Dumbarton. We are proud to be associated with Morgan Sindall and look forward to the challenge of maintaining and improving our; Youth Investment, Local employment, Health and Safety incentives, Program Delivery, Environment, Ecological and Waste awareness, and to demonstrate M.E.C.Ltd does care and has the clients interest at heart. November 2010 - Awarded the Brand New Build of Apartments on full supply and fix basis including scaffolding (N.A.S.C) for G.A. Construction Ltd. This prestigious development in Manchester is the 6th scheme of its type Marshall Errock Construction Ltd has been awarded in Manchester this past 6-years. Each scheme has been delivered on time, on cost, and with zero reportable health and safety.

This as a result of continued sustained policy and strategy of investment and planning in health and safety and permanent retainer of industry leader H & S consultants R.G.Wilbrey. This supplemented with staff training of first aid courses, tool box talks, 100% CSCS compliance, CHAS registration and benchmarking. ISO 140001 compliant and of course our unique investment in youth policy.

In 2004 Marshall Errock Construction Ltd embarked on a company strategy to achieve supply chain status with the industry’s most demanding clients. This was implemented to raise the bar on service, our professionalism, delivery, health and safety, programming, youth investment as per the industry leaders directions and targets. It has and remains very challenging.

Marshall Errock Construction Ltd’s 19th School since January 2007. All to date delivered, on time, on cost, to the clients satisfaction and with follow on work with each client, which remains our primary target with Morgan Sindall to repeat.

 One of the most demanding specialist Masonry Brick and Blockwork Packages that has emerged throughout the UK this past few years is the Markazi Jamia Mosque. One of the country’s largest and leading award winning contractors Galliford Try, have awarded this project to Marshall Errock Construction Ltd.

The Brickwork is of a highly specialised nature incorporating brickwork designs, arches, patterns, bonds to replicate those performed by craftsman of over 2000 years ago.
This is an addition to our back catalogue of categories which also includes; The Construction of a Football Stadium, Natural Stone, wet and dry cast stone, specialist masonry products, Viaduct Refurbishment work, as well as the Residential, Commercial, Government/PFI, BSF, Retail, Civil’s.

Ecclesiastical work will be a welcome addition to one of the country’s most formidable Masonry Brick and Blockwork C.V.’s spanning 28-years of uninterrupted trading in our particular field of expertise. It is rewarding to be recognised as such by a company of the status of Galliford Try.


September 2010: A Formidable achievement by Marshall Errock Construction Ltd Improved Bricklayer Mr Ellis Hampson, demonstrating what Investment in Youth can produce. We are very proud that Ellis has been awarded the best overall bricklayer on his course for 2009/2010. A spectacular achievement through hard work determination and commitment - well done Ellis.

September 2010 - Volker Fitzpatrick award waste contract Masonry Brick and Blockwork Package to Marshall Errock Construction. Veolia Environmental Services awarded Volker Fitzpatrick the main contract to carry out design works prior to the construction of a new advanced £16 million materials recycling facility (MRF) at Gillmoss Recycling Facility in Merseyside. Veolia Environmental Services was awarded the 20 year waste management and recycling contract in June 2009 on behalf of the Merseyside and Halton Waste Partnership. Construction is to commence on the new MRF late 2009 and the new facility will be able to process up to 100,000 tonnes of waste per annum.

September 2010 -The Emerson Groups chose Marshall Errock Construction Ltd to carry out their Specialist Natural Stone, Facing Brickwork and Curved
Blockwork Feature Walling, ahead of rival Stone and Brickwork contractors at the Altrincham Girls Grammar School. This represents the 18th School that M.E.C.Ltd have been awarded in the past 3-years. It also represents a rekindling of relationships with Emerson Group Projects whom we had worked with at Middlebrook Development Village in 1998, and completed the Glazed Brickwork, stack bonded and specialist blues and white blockwork for there contractor Birse at the Reebok Stadium in 1997.

Now entering our 4th year as the prestigious COIN status sub – contractor with Laing O Rourke, we are pleased to announce the award of The Perth Royal Hospital Contract to M.E.C.Ltd, A combination of new build and refurbishment works in a sterile clinical environment. To also announce to be part of 1,000,000 hours worked scheme by Laing O Rourke on their Edinburgh Schools PPP Project.

July 2010 - Bowmer & Kirkland the recent recipient of the Main Contractor of the Year Award in the Confederation of Construction Specialists, awarded Marshall Errock Construction Ltd our 8th Sainsbury’s Supermarket. The supermarket based in Bishop Auckland incorporates stack bonded special feature blockwork and is a follow on project for M.E.C.Ltd who recently completed the Sainsbury’s Supermarket at Pity Me in Durham for the same client. The relationship between MEC and Bowmer and Kirkland has now spanned two decades of trading and partnerships.

June 2010 - Parkinson’s of Blackpool award St Peter’s High School Project in Manchester Masonry Brick, special feature panelled Brickwork and Blockwork to Marshall Errock Construction Ltd.  MEC have now successfully secured and completed 17-schools in 3-years. All resulting in follow on work with each client. St Peter’s School has been the subject of a Milestone event.

May 2010 - Awarded the Masonry Brick Blockwork and Scaffolding @ Morrison’s Superstore in Leeds from one of countries leading Major Construction Company, Clugston Group. This award represents a continued trading partnership between CCL and MEC through many difficult trading periods spanning over 12-years of partnering. Clugston’s benchmarking, Zero Riddor – British Safety Council Awards – and company policy of being friendly and having clients interest at heart, has been the instrumental in the sustained and continued improvements within Marshall Errock Construction Ltd. This is our 40th Supermarket Development so is a landmark in our Commercial Sector.

May 2010 - A special mention for our Level 2 Bricklaying apprentice Mr Ellis Hampson who on the 27th April 2010 achieved DISTINCTION grade from The Liverpool Community College Centre. In particular HSE regulations, Fire, Accident, First Aid, emergency procedures and reporting… well done Ellis!

April 2010 - Volker Fitzpatrick One of the UK's Largest Privately owned civil engineering, Highway Maintenance, Rail, Building and Facilities Management  have chosen M.E.C.Ltd as their preferred sub – contractor for the Masonry Brick and Blockwork package at the highly prestigious £100M Blackpool Tram Project. This is an award we are most proud of in our consistency of Civil Sector Works and to be associated with such a high profile scheme and a client demanding excellence.

March 2010 -Marshall Errock Construction Ltd awarded The Holy Cross School Project in Oldham for Whitefield and Brown’s. Notably this is the 16th School Project M.E.C.Ltd has been awarded in the past 36 – months. Our commitment to Health and Safety – Apprentice Training – Commercial – Local Employment ( Nationally – from our in-house data base of over 6,000 + gangs of Bricklayers ), has Assisted MEC in being one of the country’s leading contractors in the Schools/BSF’s sector.

November 2009 - MEC are proud to be awarded phase 2 at Batley Sports Centre for Clugston. The Company philosophy of Clugston’s Zero RIDDOR, Contract Journal Awards, British Safety Council Awards, Customer Satisfaction, Benchmarking, Quality, Contract Control and Financial has had a major influence on making Marshall Errock Construction Ltd a better company. We are determined to improve on this.

October 2009 - MEC were awarded Sainsburys in Durham for Bowmer and Kirkland. This is the latest of several Sainsbury projects MEC have carried out and is also repeat work from a highly regarded customer.

July 2009 – Miss Kelly Swann MEC Assistant Quantity Surveyor successfully finished her first year at John Moore’s University doing a degree in Quantity Surveying, she finished with a 1st in Construction and Property, 2.1 in Maths, 2.1 in Construction Technology, 2.1 Construction Law and a 1st in Environmental Science.


June 2009 – Marshall Errock Construction Ltd were informed that our application for CHAS had been approved and we are now CHAS compliant and are in the process of seeking full CHAS accreditation.


January 2009 – Sir Robert McAlpine awarded MEC the Brickwork/Blockwork package for the Marie Curie Hospice at Glasgow.


December 2008 – MEC won contractor of the month award at Laing O’Rourke’s at Kinross School in Scotland this was a great achievement for MEC and since then our relationship with Laing O’Rourke as grown.


October 2008 – Following the Health Centre at West Denton Clugston awarded MEC the Brickwork/Blockwork package for West Denton Superstore in Newcastle.


July 2008 – Skanska awarded MEC the 2nd stage of Glenochill Prison following on from our good working relationship with them on the 2nd Phase.

November 2007 – MEC achieved the accolade of being voted No 1 in the UK at the National Awards in London in the category entered from over 400 finalists, the award was for the use of Alderidge smooth red brick in the highly desirable Quayside Lofts Developments in the Newcastle –on- Tyne area. September 2007 – Sir Robert McAlpine awarded MEC with the Brickwork/Blockwork package for Kenton Comprehensive School in Newcastle Upon Tyne.


May 2007 – Marshall Errock Constructions senior site staff carried out and successfully completed their first Aid and was awarded certificates.


February 2007 - 100% Platinum CSCS site Manager Card Accreditation and 100% First Aid course for all MEC Site Managers. 100% PASMA compliant.


February 2007 – MEC completed a 7 school project for Skanska in Edinburgh that ran concurrent, we employed 140 Bricklayers at peak and this went successfully and resulted in follow on work for Skanska. The schools are as follows –
- Gorebridge Primary School Scotland.
- Loanhead Primary School Scotland.
- Pathead Primary School, Scotland.
- Stobhill Primary School, Scotland.

April 2006 – Further to being reinstated with Skanska MEC was awarded the Brickwork/Blockwork package for the first stage at Glenochill Prison, Scotland (Houseblock), this was the start of a five year project.

September 2004 – Mr Paul Errock returned to the helm of Marshall Errock Construction Ltd with the assistance of Mr Nigel Swann (Construction Director) and commenced re-building the company’s reputation.


1998 – 2004 – For this period the status and fortunes of MEC Ltd suffered as Mr Paul Errock was hospitalised on several occasions and he remained ill for prolonged periods.


December 1998 – Sadly Mr Paul Errock took seriously ill.


October 1997 – Marshall Errock Construction received a letter of thanks for our efforts and contributions in the construction of the Reebok stadium from the chairman of Bolton Wanderers football club.

December 1990 - Gary Marshall departs Marshall Errock Construction Ltd. Mr Paul Errock becomes sole owner, and Managing Director.


August 1990 – Marshall Errock Construction was incorporated as a Limited Company.


July 1990 - Commenced trading with John Sisk & Son’s at their Princess St Project in Manchester.


May 1990 - Laing O Rourke (Formerly John Laing Ltd award MEC The Avant Hotel in Oldham). With the exception of period 1998 – 2004, Laing O Rourke remain one of Marshall Errock Construction Ltd’ most prestigious clients.


April 1989 – Marshall Errock Construction undertook our first project with GB Building (formerly Gleeson’s), this was for the Brickwork on Hope Hospital.


June 1988 – MEC Commenced trading with Bowmer and Kirkland and since this day have had an excellent trading relationship with them and carried out various projects to date.


May 1987 - North Midland Construction awarded Marshall Errock Construction Ltd three projects; Blackburn Meadows and two projects at Stocksbridge Power Station.


June 1987 - Commenced trading with Costain at the Maternity unit at Manchester Hospital.


January 1987 – MEC achieved approved status with Balfour Beatties and carried out an average of 1 project per annum for the following 14 years.


February 1986 – Following on from the British Aerospace at Woodford MEC then commenced a 6 year project at the British Aerospace in Chadderton for Dew Group.


September 1985 – Marshall Errock commenced an 8 year maintenance project at British Aerospace at Woodford for Dew Group.


March 1984 – Marshall Errock successfully achieved approved status with Dew Group.


October 1983 – Marshall Errock Construction was founded by Paul Errock and Garry Marshall.

September 1983 - Mr Paul Errock completed 7-year course 1976 – 1983 specialising in Masonry Brick and Blockwork including a 5-year apprenticeship. Gaining ULCI Brickwork, City and Guilds Of The London Institute, Advanced City and Guilds and Technicians Certificate – 18 modules to O.T.C. Diploma.
